So Monday after Amy was off she slept for 2 hours and then she got up to go to the zoo. She is a pretty big champ for walking around the zoo all day on a few hours of sleep! The zoo was good! It was a beautiful day, 26 degrees and sunny. We walked around the zoo and looked at the animals, and I got to see the giraffes. For those who don't know me well giraffes are my favorite animals! They even had a baby giraffe. We tried to catch a talk about the tigers, but the doofus running it started talking about hippos. I think he may have been confused. We spent a few hours at the zoo hanging out seeing the animal exhibits and then headed home. On the way out I took a picture with the metal moose to represent my moose cabin ladies!
After heading home we just relaxed a bit at home and watched some TV, and Kev headed to his evening class. Then Amy asked me if I had ever been to Peter's? I had never heard of it so we decided to go there and get something to eat. Peters is a old style drive in restaurant that is apparently quite famous here in Calgary and has an extensive milkshake menu. When we got there we decided to just get a large fry and split it between the three of us. When Amy ordered this the guy said, "Do you know how big the large is?" Amy told him that we were splitting it between the three of us and even then he just shrugged his shoulders and said,, "ok." When we got our food we soon realized why he had warned us. The fries came in their own bag! It was like a large lunch bag full of fries! That with a few cheeseburgers and three milkshakes was a recipe for a food baby! The food was great and cheap! I was impressed and hopefully we will go back there sometime before I leave.
The helicopter ride for Tuesday didn't happen because of the wind and rain, but we are hoping that in the morning the weather will be clearer and we will be able to go. I will keep you updated!
